CNC Lathe Commissioning And Acceptance

Nov 09, 2025 Leave a message

The acceptance of CNC lathes should be conducted in accordance with the "Technical Requirements for Manufacturing and Acceptance of CNC Horizontal Lathes" promulgated and implemented by the state. In case of disputes during the acceptance process, the relevant national standards should be used as the basis for resolution through negotiation.

Unpacking and Acceptance: Check each item in the box against the packing list and the specific attachment list in the contract. Record the inspection findings. The following should be checked:

Is the packaging box intact? Is there any obvious damage to the machine tool's appearance, such as rust or paint peeling?

Is there any technical documentation, and is it complete?

Start-up Test: After the machine tool is installed and debugged, notify the manufacturer to send personnel to debug the machine tool. The main tests include:

1. Various manual tests

a. Manual Operation Test: Test the accuracy of manual operation.

b. Jogging Test

c. Spindle Gear Shifting Test

d. Overtravel Test

2. Functional Tests

a. Perform functional tests on the machine tool using buttons, switches, and manual operation. Test the flexibility, smoothness, and reliability of the functions.

b. Select any spindle speed and perform continuous tests of spindle start, forward rotation, reverse rotation, and stop. Perform at least 7 operations.

c. Spindle high, medium, and low speed switching test. The allowable deviation between the commanded and displayed speed values is ±5%.

d. Select any feed rate and perform continuous working feed and rapid feed tests across the entire X and Z axis stroke. The rapid feed should be greater than 1/2 of the full stroke. Perform at least 7 consecutive operations in both directions.

e. Perform low, medium, and high feed rate switching tests across the entire X and Z axis stroke. Perform various indexing and clamping tests on the turret tool post.

f. Perform sealing, lubrication, and cooling system tests to ensure no leakage.

g. Perform clamping, loosening, flexibility, and reliability tests on the chuck.

h. Perform forward rotation, reverse rotation, stop, and spindle speed change tests on the spindle.

i. Perform forward and reverse indexing tests on the turret tool post.

j. Perform low, medium, and high feed rate to rapid feed conversion tests on the feed mechanism.

k. Test the reliability and operational flexibility of functions such as feed coordinate overtravel, manual data input, position display, return to reference point, program sequence number indication and retrieval, program pause, program deletion, address line interpolation, linear cutting loop, taper cutting cycle, thread cutting cycle, circular arc cutting cycle, tool position compensation, pitch compensation, and backlash compensation.

3. Idle Run Test

a. Drive mechanism operation test: at the highest speed range, no less than 1 hour, spindle bearing temperature not exceeding 70℃, temperature rise not exceeding 40℃;

b. Continuous idle run test: the operation time is no less than 8 hours, and each cycle time is no more than 15 minutes. At the end of each cycle, stop the machine and simulate the release of the workpiece. The stop should not exceed one minute before resuming operation.

4. Load Test

The user prepares drawings and blanks of typical parts, programs and inputs the program under the guidance of the manufacturer's commissioning personnel, and selects cutting tools and cutting parameters. The load test can be conducted in three steps: roughing, heavy cutting, and finish turning. Each step is further divided into single cutting and cyclic program cutting. After each cutting operation, check the actual dimensions of the machined parts and compare them with the command values to verify the machine tool's operating accuracy under load conditions, i.e., the machine tool's overall machining accuracy and the turret tool post's indexing accuracy.

5. Acceptance

After the machine tool is unpacked and accepted, functional tests, no-load tests, and load tests are completed, and qualified products are produced, acceptance and handover procedures can be processed. The manufacturer is responsible for resolving any problems.
